In a touching tribute, pop star Ariana Grande tweeted a gorgeous photo of herself with teen fan, Lily Constance, who just lost her battle with cancer. The two had posed for the photo together in August 2019 after talking at a special meet-and-greet at Grande’s concert in Utah, a surprise which the teen says was arranged by her nurses.

The singer was on her “Sweetener World Tour” when Lily, who had tickets to an earlier concert, missed the evening due to medical complications. She landed, instead, in the hospital. The teen then explained to her YouTube followers that her nurses, who saw her disappointment, were “absolutely amazing … got me tickets to go to Utah [to another concert on the tour] with my Dad, my brother, and Laura.” Even better, Lily learned that she’d have VIP passes to what’s called the pre-concert sound-check party. But Lily said could never have expected what happened next:
“After the Sound Check party,” she says, excitedly on her video, “we went upstairs to the lounge, we were taking lots of photos, then I text Ariana’s bodyguard because we had his number: Any chance we’ll be meeting Ariana?” When she sent the text, Lily thought it was a joke. So, the reply she received was a complete surprise. “Yes!” the bodyguard wrote back. “It’s a done deal.”
“I’m Meeting Ariana!”
As Lily continues the story: “I start hyperventilating. I get a wristband. We go downstairs and they put me in the front of the line to meet her.” And when they finally met? “We’re wearing the same sweatshirts!”
Lily continues talking excitedly in her video post: “We were talking a little bit and I gave her one of my Lily’s Hope bracelets and she said, ‘Oh my god, you’re so cute and strong. I love you so much!’ Then we hugged and we took the picture.”
Ariana Remembers: She Shared Their Photo on Twitter Today
When Lily left the meet-and-greet she was overcome with emotion: “As I walk out, I start bawling my eyes out. It was the best experience I’ve ever had. I loved it so much. She’s literally an angel. I love Ariana so much.”
When Ariana received word today that Lily Constance had died, she paid tribute to the teen, posting the photo of the two of them together with a few simple words: “love you always.”
