“One of the best parts of my day is calling my parents and making them smile,” says television host and breast cancer survivor, Giuliana Rancic, who gave everyone a positive update on how her and her parents are doing during the Covid-19 quarantine.
Rancic, 45, shared a screenshot of a FaceTime conversation between her and her parents, Eduardo and Anna DePandi, who are currently quarantined due to the coronavirus pandemic. The television host also shared some information about her extended family overseas, and thankfully it’s good news. Rancic, who is of Italian descent, told fans that her friends and family in Italy are safe and healthy, and that she and her family are sending prayers to other communities impacted by the virus.

Rancic revealed that she and her husband, Bill Rancic, were trying to conceive and she was having fertility issues before her breast cancer diagnosis. In 2012, their son Duke was born through a surrogate.
Rancic and her husband have been involved in cancer care initiatives ever since. Bill was a judge for the C3 Prize, an initiative from Astellas Oncology which funds ideas in cancer from medication and beyond. Four ideas are chosen every year, and the chosen ideas receive a grant to turn them into reality.
“Having gone through the journey … it certainly opened up my eyes to a lot of the challenges and a lot of the issues that you face outside the medicine side of cancer treatment,” Bill told SurvivorNet.
