“A bunch of 20-somethings can get together, and have a couple drinks, and really fight for something that’s so much bigger than every single person there.” That’s the reason Meaghan McGoldrick created Cancer Can’t Kill Love, to get a bunch of young people together for a great cause – and to honor her parents.
Meaghan lost both of her parents to cancer at a really young age. Her father passed away from 9/11-linked disease in 2008, and her mother passed away from leukemia shortly after Meagan graduated college. In remembrance of her parents, Maegan created Cancer Can’t Kill Love, an annual benefit concert where all proceeds go towards cancer research. This year’s event is being held on Oct. 13 – from 2 p.m. to midnight at Sporting Club Gjoa in Brooklyn, N.Y.
