An experience with cancer can really put your life into perspective. A lot of survivors tell us that it helped them to make positive changes, like exercising or eating right, or even convinced them to make a career change. It’s an experience that has to ability to teach some really important life lessons.
Dana Donofree — a breast cancer survivor and the mastermind behind Ana Ono Intimates — says she believes cancer actually made her a better person. “I was going so hard and so fast that, I just wanted it all. And that’s not healthy,” Dana says. “I feel like cancer slowed me down. It really allowed me to live in the moment. It allowed me to focus on my life and my relationships and things that brought me joy.”
