‘New Year! New Goal!’
But her distress was a momentary blip. Three days earlier she was hopeful for the new year.
“New Year! New Goal! New Hope!” she wrote in a recent Instagram video post. In the video, Miller, out of her walker and standing up while holding onto a walker with wheels on the two front supports.and saying “New year, new day, let’s get this!” bends her back up and down.
Her fans were thrilled to see the dance instructor up on her feet, and supported her with words of love and kindness, “Get it!! So proud of you, Abby!! [heart] [strong arm],” wrote one.
They notice just how far she’s come since her initial surgery, with another fan commenting, “Your progress is truly inspiring! Incredible job, one day that walker won’t even be there and you’ll be giving your dancers a run for their money!”
And one person felt comfortable enough to joke around with her about about the show, “So what information are you and Santa hiding about the tv show.”
Miller’s Cancer Journey
Miller, 53, was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Burkitt Lymphoma in 2018, shortly after being released from prison for charges related to tax evasion and falsely declaring bankruptcy. She shocked fans earlier this year when she posted a photo of her bare back with a large scar running down between her shoulder blades, and shared some of her cancer journey.

“One year ago today ~ I underwent emergency surgery for an infection in my spine,” Miller wrote in the caption of her April post. “This mass/tumor choking my spinal cord turned out to be Burkitt Lymphoma. I endured ten rounds of chemo therapy (each lasting 6 days with 4/ 24hr bags pumping poison into my body ending with a spinal tap in 3 spots, plus another shot of Chemo into my tailbone area up the spinal cord around my brain cavity) Ten times!”
The infamous dance instructor went on to describe how she had to undergo several other surgeries and months of physical therapy to be able to sit up and crawl around by herself. She’s been in a wheelchair since the surgery. Over the past few months, however, Miller has been working hard to to stand and walk again.
