Kylie, now 53, was only 36 when was diagnosed with breast cancer. The singer had been prepping for her “Showgirl Greatest Hits” tour when she got her diagnosis, setting her life into a tailspin, as those have gone through it can relate to. She had to start treatment immediately, while having to cancel her tour dates.
Kylie had a partial mastectomy and underwent chemotherapy and radiation. Thankfully, after she completed her treatment program, she was given the “all-clear.”
Kylie later admitted how the frightening experience changed her life. “Cancer changed many things forever, and then some things did not change at all,” Kylie told Speaking to Who Magazine in 2020. “My view of the world was different, my destination, for the most part, was the same.”

The Upside of Cancer
An experience with cancer can really put your life into perspective. A lot of survivors tell us that it helped them to make positive changes, like exercising or eating right, or even convinced them to make a career change. It's an experience that has to ability to teach some really important life lessons.
Cancer Brought Me So Many Lessons
Dana Donofreea breast cancer survivor and the mastermind behind Ana Ono Intimatessays she believes cancer actually made her a better person.
"I was going so hard and so fast that, I just wanted it all. And that's not healthy," Dana shared with SurvivorNet. "I feel like cancer slowed me down. It really allowed me to live in the moment. It allowed me to focus on my life and my relationships and things that brought me joy."
Dana says the experience made her a better friend, a better wife, and a good person overall. "It makes me feel honored that I got the chance to course correct," Dana said.
