Beloved and plucky reality TV bounty hunter Beth Chapman, 51, the wife of Duane “Dog” Chapman, had an emotional and uniquely special Mothers Day this year after her recent lung cancer diagnosis and hospitalizations for cancer related complications. In a powerful speech about the role of faith in her cancer battle, she appeared to say that she’s made the decision to end chemotherapy treatments.
Beth, a loving mother of two, had much to celebrate on Mother’s Day, and many friends and family members with whom to celebrate.

“I don't go to God and go… why did I get cancer?” Beth told the congregation, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “He'll roll his eyes at me again because I know why because it is the ultimate test of faith. It is the evidence of things hoped for and it is the substance of things not known.”
Chapman was initially diagnosed with throat cancer in 2017. She had surgery, and was declared cancer free. But in 2018, Beth learned that her cancer had spread to the lungs and had moved to Stage Four, after she was rushed to the hospital for difficulty with her breathing.
Beth’s husband Duane “Dog The Bounty Hunter” Chapman uploaded an emotional post on Instagram about Beth’s Mother’s Day. "We had an amazing Mother's Day thank you to my son @lelandbchapman and @jamiepchapman for making the journey to be with us on Mother's Day. It meant so much @garrychapman and @bonniejoc and @cecilybeezee you kids never let dad down we love you guys wishes you'd have been here. Mom did great," Duane captioned the photo, which was tagged at The Source Church Bradenton.
Beth posted a photo of her and Leland, who she says spent Mother’s Day making her laugh.
Chapman’s appears to have made a quick recovery from her breathing-related hospitalization and she seems to be doing a lot better.
We don’t know the specifics of her case, but the most common kind of fluid buildup that can happen during lung cancer is what is called "pleural effusion," or fluid buildup around the space between the lungs and the chest wall. When this happens, the fluid can push on the lungs and create a lot of pressure.
Doctors can try to drain the fluid by inserting a needle or a tube into the affected area. They can also insert something called "talc," which helps the layers of tissue in this area stick together, and prevent fluid from building up. In the most difficult cases, doctors might opt for surgery to redirect the fluid to another part of the body, or to remove the tissue in the area.
Beth also posted photos of Mother’s Day flowers she received from her daughter Cecily with the caption, “Amazingly beautiful and always on time I love you my @cecilybeezeeyou never let me down ever I’v had a great time being your mom! Here's to more mother daughter antics! Seriously I love my flowers #mothersday#mothersdayweekend2019 #wgna #dogsmostwanted.”
Cecily also posted on Instagram, using a photo of herself leaning on a car with the license plate “MRSDOG.” Alongside the photo she wrote, “To the most beautiful woman in the universe Happy Mother's Day! I love you to the moon and back a million times. Your such an inspiration to the world not only me, you've lifted so many people up with your Courageous Spirit.”
"You are the strongest person with a life filled with love from near and far," the post continues. "I'm so proud of you with all the accomplishments you have made. Nothing in this world will ever keep you away from me. You've guided me in my best times and in my worst times, you've always been there to except me for me. I'll carry out your legacy forever."
