Rockstar Eddie Van Halen has kept his battle with throat cancer mostly out of the public eye, and fans are speculating whether he will ever tour again. One of his bandmates has claimed it’s unlikely, but Van Halen’s son is still holding onto hope.
In an interview with The New York Times fellow rockstar David Lee Roth’s stated that he believes it’s unlikely that the band will reunite for a tour again due to Van Halen’s condition. Loudwire then posted Roth’s claim on their Instagram page, which prompted Van Halen’s son Wolfgang Van Halen to respond that the decision should ultimately be up to the man himself.

Cancer Survivors Proving They’re Still Strong And Active
It’s understandable that Van Halen may want to take a break from touring due to the long hours on the road and energy needed while on stage. During treatment, a handful of cancer survivors have told SurvivorNet that they continued their daily activities to prove to their friends and families that they were still feeling good. Of course, resuming daily activities is a far cry from touring like Van Halen would go through.
Tiffany Dyba, a breast cancer survivor, wanted to prove she was still strong and healthy during treatment while eliminating stigma associated with the disease. Thus, Hip-Hop Chemo was born. In her videos, she dances around to her favorite hip hop songs to show her followers and those who care about her that she may be sick and undergoing chemotherapy, but she feels good.

“I let people know, it’s going to be OK,” Dyba says about Hip-Hop Chemo. “It’s important for people to see that I’m OK. Number one, because I am OK, and I think that there’s such a stigma around cancer, to where many people just think that I’m bald and sick and cowering in a corner and throwing up. I sort of want to bust through those stereotypes and that stigma and say, I’m out here dancing because I feel good. I’m not going to act sick if I don’t feel sick. On the days that I feel tired and I don’t feel good, I’m going to post about that too, and I do.”
