Kelly Osbourne, the British media personality and daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, continues to handle her family’s many health challenges with grit and grace.
Responding to a question about her father’s Parkinson’s disease at Elton John’s post-Oscars party, she said, “Everybody is acting like it’s doomsday, but it’s not.” And since the diagnosis, she told the U.K.’s Daily Mirror, their relationship has gotten even closer.

Sharon Osbourne’s Colon Cancer
In 2002, Sharon Osbourne was diagnosed with colon cancer after Ozzy urged her to see a doctor for the first time in three years, according to People. "You think nothing will ever happen to you. You're invincible,” she said. “Then after you get over the shock and panic, you realize how lucky you are to be alive.”
She had surgery three days after the diagnosis, she said, and, within days, received word that the cancer had spread.
Her subsequent chemo treatment was documented on the reality-TV show, “The Osbournes,” which ostensibly was centered around Ozzy, but which shot the entire family to fame. She was later declared cancer free.
‘I Didn’t Want to Live Under That Cloud’
In 2012, after genetic testing revealed she had a high risk of developing breast or ovarian cancer, Osbourne opted to have a preventative double mastectomy. “As soon as I found out I had the breast cancer gene, I thought: ‘The odds are not in my favour,'” she said in an interview with Hello magazine.
“I’ve had cancer before and I didn’t want to live under that cloud: I decided to just take everything off, and had a double mastectomy,” she explained. “It was a no-brainer. I didn’t even think of my breasts in a nostalgic way, I just wanted to be able to live my life without that fear all the time.”
Kelly Osbourne’s Cancer Discussion
