For a lot of people recovering from cancer, celebrating life’s milestones becomes particularly poignant. Iconic rock queen Tina Turner, whose dramatic life and wildly energetic ’80s dance performances (think “Proud Mary” and “What’s Love Got To Do With It”) have been brought to Broadway in “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical,” turns 80 years old today. She says she cherishes the time she’s been given after cancer and other recent health struggles.
“It’s like having a second chance at life. I am happy to be an 80-year-old,” the singer told the Mirror in an interview. “I look great. I feel good. I have gone through some very serious sicknesses that I am overcoming.”
