Amy Grantham has been through cancer, and all of the things that come with a diagnosis. When you’ve been diagnosed with any type of cancer, the internet can be a really scary place. That’s why, she says, it’s so beneficial to have a website like SurvivorNet — where you can listen to stories from people who have been through what you’ve been through, and get good information about your disease, straight from the mouths of experts in the field.
“I’m here to tell you, everybody’s an oncologist when you get cancer,” Amy said. “I cannot tell you how many people were like, ‘well, if you just smoke weed.’ Well, been there, done that. That didn’t cure my cancer. I don’t know what to tell you. It’s really great to have a resource like this. Where you can go and, at your own pace of absorption because it’s a lot to take in, when you’re recently diagnosed … information can sound scary.”
