When survivor Tracy White’s son looked up at her one day and said, “Mommy, are you gonna die?” she knew she had to make a change in her life. And she knew she had to defeat her cancer. Tracy was a marketing executive, commuting two hours a day and working as hard as she possibly could when she got her first cervical cancer diagnosis. “The challenge of going 180 miles per hour was absolutely taxing for my body,” Tracy says. “I needed to slow down in order to heal.”
A big part of the healing process for Tracy involved embracing positive emotion, and really getting in touch with her spiritual self. “I would love to tell every patient that gets a diagnosis, no matter how dire, that there is always hope. Don’t ever let anybody take it away from you.”
