Ramy Gafni is an accomplished makeup artist with a long list of celebrity clientele. He’s also a non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor … which makes him the perfect candidate for advice on looking your best when you’re feeling the worst. Ramy says when you just want to feel beautiful, or feel like yourself again, simplicity is the key.
“Minimum makeup, maximum impact … that’s especially important when you’re going through cancer,” Ramy says. “You want to look like yourself and you want to look good, but you don’t want to spend an hour getting there. You want it quick, and easy, and effective.”
Read More Ramy says shortly after he was diagnosed, he decided to start giving back by teaching his makeup tricks to other people who were going through the same thing as him. “It gives purpose to what I went through,” Ramy says. “I feel like it’s very empowering … I don’t just tell [people] slap this on, you’ll feel better. There’s more to it than that. Your skin changes so much from chemo, from radiation … it’s a very powerful tool.”
