Dancing is good for the soul, and it’s so sweet to see Doherty, in the midst of her fighting stage 4 breast cancer, twirling around the “dance floor.” In fact, she
often turns to an at-home dance party to have some fun.

In her caption, Doherty claims she may need dance classes, but from where we’re sitting, they’re a dream team.

She was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, and underwent estrogen therapy treatments, a mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery before declaring herself cancer-free in 2018. However, in February 2019, she revealed to GMA's Amy Robach that her cancer had returned, and progressed.

It’s so nice to see that Doherty is all smiles with her husband, and biggest support system, during this time. After all, dancing solo is often never as fun as when you have a partner by your side.
Taking Control of a Diagnosis As a Team
It’s not easy to talk to your spouse about cancer, but it’s critical to have them by your side during treatment. It’s been proven that patients who remain positive during treatment have more successful outcomes, and a support system plays a huge role in that.
When Cristan Creasy was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer, she and her husband understandably didn’t really know how to handle it. In fact, Creasy admits they avoided talking about it for the first few days. However, in the end they knew they needed to learn as much as they could about treatment options, and take this on together.

“He had a difficult time processing the fact that I had cancer,” Cristan says about her husband. “My husband and I became much stronger together. We have just had even a larger bond because I had to rely on him a lot.”
