Kira was born with a rare birth defect and had her lower leg amputated as a child. Since she learned to walk, she has used a prosthetic leg. While some might see this as a major setback, Kira’s fiery passion and athleticism drives her to achieve her goals and amaze those around her with her achievements.

She found solace in yoga and explored the different ways that her body could move, while improving her spirits mentally. She learned about breath work and focusing on the present. It was then that Kira gained the physical and mental strength to start training to climb the Grand Teton. Any time she faced challenges or got scared and felt her heart pounding, she would turn back to her yoga practice to get her through and slow her heart rate down.
When Kira reaches the top, she cries tears of joy at what she has accomplished, and even does a handstand. Kira’s story is a true testament that overcoming challenges is all in the mindset.
