- His lymphoma was discovered after he found a tumor on his neck.

Bongino’s Lymphoma
At the end of September, Bongino found a tumor on his neck. Initially, he wasn’t concerned because the host says he has gotten lumps on his neck before, and they’ve always been lipomas (fatty lumps that are usually harmless but can sometimes be cancerous). Bongino has been candid with fans and has documented his cancer journey. When he had his tumor removed, he showed fans his scar and wrote: “I'm out of surgery & I feel good. They removed the whole tumor from my neck. The bad news is, it looks like lymphoma.”
After updating fans on Instagram, Bongino took to the airwaves, too. In a vulnerable and brave moment, he said to listeners, “Just a little bit of bad news on a personal note, we did get a diagnosis yesterday from my doctor; I know my audience, you have been amazing.”
After thanking fans, Bongino shared his specific diagnosis, for all who were concerned about him. “I've received an overwhelming amount of support. Unfortunately, it is cancer. It's lymphoma the Hodgkin's type. But it is treatable."

Lauren Chiarello is a Hodgkin Lymphoma survivor, who successfully beat the disease and went on to build a family with her partner. Chiarello shared the happy news with SurvivorNet, saying, “As many of you know, we've had a windy, bumpy road to arrive at this moment. From 2007-2009, I went through intense treatment twice for Hodgkin lymphoma: chemotherapy, radiation + a stem cell transplant.”
As Chiarello shows through example, the treatment path for Hodgkin Lymphoma may be bumpy and intense, but it is surmountable. And we’ll be sending well-wishes to Bongino, like his colleagues, on his road to wellness.
