Like a lot of survivors, Stefanie Wardrep says that a lot of the people in her life simply didn’t know how to react when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. “When you’re the youngest person that you know dealing with [cancer], you can start to feel isolated,” Stefanie says.
That’s why she decided to reach out to other survivors online. This is becoming more and more common among all sorts of cancer survivors – some members of the SurvivorNet family have even created their own websites so they can better connect with people who have been through the same things as them. Some have joined groups or teams with other survivors to deal with the worst parts of treatment together. It really does help to talk to someone who understands your struggle.
