Let’s be honest, there are a lot of brands and types of sunscreen. When trying to protect your skin from harmful rays, it can be really tough to know what type to go with. We asked Dr. Snehal Amin, a dermatologist in Manhattan, to provide some simple rules for preventing skin cancer — and he said when it comes to great skin protection, ingredients are more important than brands.
“My recommendation is really focused on the ingredients rather than the brands,” Dr. Amin said. “If you like how the brand feels on your skin, if you like the purpose of the brand — for instance sport vs. daily use or daytime use vs. short burst of activity use — I think those are more important factors than actual brands.
