She was previously a medical social worker for the Sutter Bay Medical Foundation.
She graduated from Smith College School for Social Work in 1995. She worked in a variety of mental health and addiction hospital settings, including Cambridge Health Alliance and Massachusetts General Hospital, before moving to California and joining Palo Alto Medical Foundation/Sutter Health in Medical Oncology in 2013.
